My Personal Testimony to CBD Oil

This is my personal testimony on how I believe using CBD oil has affected my health.  About seven to eight years ago, I was diagnosed with high blood pressure, high cholesterol, high glucose, and high triglycerides.  During that time I have been on blood pressure and triglyceride medication.  I have been going to the doctors once a year for my annual exam and to get the standard blood work done.  I have always been a big component of natural healing and natural remedies.  I really do not like taking medications, over the counter or prescribed, and I only take them when I really have to.  I have read about and tried some remedies and supplements that would supposedly help my high blood pressure, cholesterol, sugar, and triglycerides but they didn't help at all.  I figured because of my age and genetics, I was destiny to stay on these medications for the rest of my life, but would I.

My Introduction to CBD
Last August I had gotten involved with a CBD business, Changing The Future Outcome.  I had been reading about the many benefits of CBD oil and how this market was going to be a Billion Dollar industry in a few short years.  This is when I decided to get more involved and more educated on the matter.  I learned that CBD can help with pain and inflammation as well as lower blood pressure, cholesterol and help prevent diabetes.  There are so many more benefits that CBD can help with, but these were the ones I was interested in as it pertains to my health and even my families.  I have been using CBD oil off and on since August, experimenting with different milligram dosages to see what was right for me.  For the past month, I have been using the 500mg, 10xPure Full Spectrum CBD Oil.  And it just so happens, that I had my annual exam and blood work done a couple of weeks ago.  This gives me the perfect opportunity to see if CBD lives up to the hype.

The Effects of CBD
As I had just mentioned, I had my annual exam.  I have NOT changed my lifestyle in any way within the last year from my previous checkup.  I still eat whatever I want.  I drink beer.  I still exercise a couple of times a week.  I take the same vitamin supplements, the same blood pressure medicine, and the same triglyceride medicine.  The only thing that is different is that I have lost 10 pounds, and I happen to be taking CBD oil when I had my most recent checkup.  In my opinion, CBD has lowered my blood pressure to the extent that my doctor has taken me off of blood pressure medication.  Also, my lipid panel results from my blood work have improved significantly toward the healthier side.  Here, take a look for yourself:

Blood Pressure Results From The Last 8 Months:
(results from higi blood pressure monitor at the local grocery store)

6/22/2019 - No BP Meds / 10xPure CBD Oil
6/10/2019 - No BP Meds / 10xPure CBD Oil

5/11/2019 - No BP Meds / No CBD Oil
(Typical reading when I didn't take my BP medicine)
3/10/2019 - BP Meds / No CBD Oil
(Typical reading when I took BP medicine)

11/10/2018 - BP Meds / No CBD Oil
(Typical reading when I took BP medicine)

Note: At the time of my checkup, the nurse and the doctor took my blood pressure separately.  It was 124/84 and 120/80 respectively.

Blood Work Results From This Year and Last Year:
(Lipid Panel results only from Quest Diagnostics)

June 2019 - Lipid Panel
June 2018 - Lipid Panel

As you can see there is a big difference in the results from the previous year.

Conclusion
In my opinion, I honestly believe the CBD oil has improved my health.  Not only has it improved my cardiovascular health but it has worked on my chronic aches, pains, and inflammation.  I have a compressed disc in my neck, I have degeneration in my knees and arthritis in my thumbs.  All things expected as we get older but the CBD oil has helped to eliminate and reduce the discomfort I feel each day.  Don't take my word for it, give it a try.  What do you have to lose?  Order your CBD oil TODAY!

Full Spectrum CBD vs Broad Spectrum CBD vs CBD Isolate

When shopping for CBD oil, you may have come across products labeled as full spectrum, broad spectrum or CBD isolate.  What does this mean?  These terms are used to define which type of CBD is being used in a product.  Cannabinoids are the compounds in that product that define whether the CBD is full spectrum, broad spectrum or an isolate.  CBD can be derived from Hemp (Cannabis Sativa) or Marijuana (Cannabis Indica).  CBD produced from Hemp has little to no THC.  In contrast, Marijuana derived CBD has a 1:1 CBD to THC content ratio.

What Are Cannabinoids?
There are two types of cannabinoids, endocannabinoid, and phytocannabinoid.  Endocannabinoids are cannabinoids that occur naturally in humans and most mammals.  Endocannabinoids along with cannabinoid receptors make up the Endocannabinoid System.  This system is involved in regulating a variety of physiological and cognitive processes such as the nervous system, immune system, muscular system, and cardiovascular system.  Phytocannabinoid is a classification of compounds found in the Cannabis plant.  These compounds consist of CBD, THC, CBN, CBG, and over a hundred others found in this plant.  These compounds are important to people and pets because they interact with receptors in our Endocannabinoid System to help maintain homeostasis and balance within our bodies.

CBD Isolate
An isolate is the purest form of a compound.  It is produced by extracting that compound from its environment and isolating it from other compounds.  CBD isolate is the purest form of CBD.  This is derived by removing all the terpenes, flavonoids, essential oils, plant parts, and other cannabinoids.  The end product is just Cannabidiol (CBD).  CBD isolate is typically produced from Hemp because of its low to non-existent THC content.

Pros
Cons
  • Does Not Deliver the Enhanced Benefits of the Entire Cannabis Plant

Best For:
  • Individuals who were recommended to specifically take high doses of CBD
  • Individuals with sensitivity to THC or other cannabinoids
  • Individuals who regularly undergo drug screening tests
  • Individuals living in states that have strict THC-laws
  • First-time users that may be hesitant about other cannabinoids

Full Spectrum CBD
Full spectrum CBD is the extract that contains all the compounds of the Cannabis plant.  These compounds are cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, plant parts, and essential oils.  Two of these cannabinoids are CBD and THC.  Full spectrum CBD that is derived from Hemp and has 0.3% or less of THC is considered legal by the federal government.  The cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids and essential oils work together to magnify the therapeutic effect of each individual compound.  This is known as the "entourage effect".  In a study, subjects that were given full spectrum CBD were provided with higher levels of relief, compared to the subjects that were given CBD isolate.

Pros
  • Offers the Full Benefits of the Cannabis Plant
  • Undergoes Fewer Processes
Cons
  • May Have Psychoactive, Sedative, and Other Unwanted Side Effects
  • May Have Strong, Natural Flavor and Odor

Best For:
  • Individuals who were recommended a certain THC to CBD ratio
  • Individuals with more severe conditions or conditions that CBD isolate and Broad Spectrum could not alleviate
  • Individuals living in states where Cannabis is legal

Broad Spectrum CBD
Broad spectrum CBD, as you may have guessed it, is a little bit of both.  It is very similar to full spectrum CBD because it contains cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, plant parts, and essential oils.  On the other hand, it is like CBD isolate because it does not contain THC.  Because broad spectrum CBD has all these compounds, it can deliver the enhanced benefits of the "entourage effect," without the risk of the THC side effects.

Pros
  • Offers the Full Benefits of the Cannabis Plant
  • No Risk of Psychoactive Effects
Cons
  • Less Research and Availability
  • May Have Strong, Natural Flavor and Odor

Best For:

  • Individuals with conditions that CBD isolate alone could not alleviate
  • Individuals with sensitivity to THC
  • Individuals living in states that have strict THC-laws
  • First-time users that are hesitant about THC

WHY ARE CBD THIRD-PARTY LAB REPORTS SO IMPORTANT?

CTFO Believes in quality, transparency and accountability. That's why they provide third party testing and documentation to backup everything they share.

All product are manufactured in GMP certified facilities, which means they're regulated by the FDA to ensure that what's on their labels is what's in the products. The products are the highest quality and purity available anywhere.

Why are CBD Third-Party Lab Reports So Important?

In reality, a CBD oil is only as good as its latest lab result.

Your biggest concern when purchasing CBD oil is verifying what is in the bottle. Unfortunately, there are CBD products on the market today that include everything from illegal doses of THC to prohibited synthetic cannabinoids. Also, perhaps not so shockingly given the loosely regulated nature of the industry, some sellers add a lot less CBD in the bottle than they advertise.

Third party lab reports are especially important for the CBD industry. It’s very easy for a company to make claims on the labels, but not all CBD products are manufactured equally. Nowadays, many brands offer third-party lab reports, often referred to as certificates of analysis (COA), and this is the key to knowing what is (and isn’t) in your expensive CBD product.

CBD OIL LAB REPORTS: WHY ARE THEY NECESSARY?

Unfortunately, this opportunity has attracted quite a few poor quality players who are out to make a quick buck. With no industry standards in place and without the guidance of the FDSA, the quality of the CBD products is very unpredictable. Unlabeled CBD products have become common, and more worryingly, there are reports of harmful synthetic knock-offs. This means that consumers need to be very cautious when shopping around for any CBD product, whether it be an oil tincture, capsules, edible gummies, etc.

A study that was done in 2017 by the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine in conjunction with Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine (and published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), found that the contents of high CBD products often vary drastically from the manufacturer’s claim.

As part of this study, researchers tested a variety of hemp-based CBD products that were available to purchase online. The samples included CBD vape liquids, oil tinctures, and capsules which were blinded and tested by a third party lab three separate times to determine the actual cannabinoid potency. Believe it or not, just 3 out of 10 CBD products tested within 10% of the amount listed on the product label.

Another recent report that was published in ArsTechnica found that nearly 70% of online products that claim to have CBD cannabis extracts are mislabeled. Out of 84 products that were sold online from 31 companies, just 31% had accurate CBD amounts stated on the label. Moreover, some products contained other components that weren’t listed, such as illegal amounts of THC.

THIRD-PARTY LAB TESTS TO LOOK FOR BEFORE YOU BUY CBD OIL

In order to verify that a CBD product is pure, free of toxins and able to provide the claimed benefits, there are several analyses that need to be done. Generally, the cannabinoids that are tested are CBD, THC, CBC, CBN, and CBG. CBD is a non-psychoactive component and responsible for the majority of the health benefits associated with the cannabis plant.

Before you purchase a CBD product, you should be aware of the contents and the data regarding the product. Here are some analysis tests to look for before you purchase a CBD product:
  • CBD/THC ratio: It’s desirable for a cannabis or hemp product to have a higher concentration of CBD, and in fact it is required by law that they contain little to no THC (less than 0.3% by volume). Also, it should have minimal concentrations of other potentially psychoactive components.
  • Microbiological testing: This is done to ensure that there are no harmful mold colonies or bacteria on the cannabis or hemp plants. If there are pathogens on the plant, they can easily get inside the body if the levels are too high, and cause unwanted side effects.
  • Pesticide testing: This is important for ensuring the safety of cannabis and hemp compounds since the plants can be treated with fungicides and herbicides and high concentrations of these can cause significant side effects.
  • Residual solvents testing: Lab tests should include an analysis of residual solvents. Solvents are used when the plant is processed and turned into oil, powder or other products, but only for the solvent-based extraction process. Too high concentrations of solvents like propane, acetone, ethanol, and carbon dioxide can lead to unpleasant health effects and turn the product into a highly flammable one.

This is a certificate of analysis for CTFO's 10xPure CBD oil done by a third-party lab.

The CBD Boom and Older Adults

I was looking through Yahoo today and came across this article in the Health section, "Retirees Are Jumping Into the CBD Boom - and Loving It.  Here's What to Know Before You Try, According to Experts."  It is a really good, non-biased article.  It begins with a story about a retired woman who took Vicodin and ibuprofen to work every day for job-related, chronic pain.  She had foot surgery and steroid injections but the pain never went away.  She ended up retiring early due to everyday pain.  Then she tried CBD.  She has been retired for eight years and hasn't taken Vicodin since.  She does not go to the doctor anymore and has no ibuprofen in her house.

What is CBD?
Cannabidiol (CBD) is a naturally occurring compound found in the resinous flower of cannabis, a plant with a rich history as a medicine going back thousands of years. Today the therapeutic properties of CBD are being tested and confirmed by scientists and doctors around the world. CBD is one of more than a hundred “phytocannabinoids,” which are unique to cannabis and endow the plant with its robust therapeutic profile.  CBD can provide relief for chronic pain, anxiety, inflammation, and depression.  It can also be a potential treatment for a wide range of maladies, such as:

CBD works by activating the endocannabinoid system.  This is a network of receptors in the central nervous system.  The endocannabinoid system plays a crucial role in regulating a broad range of physiological processes that affect our everyday experience – our mood, our energy level, our intestinal fortitude, immune activity, blood pressure, bone density, glucose metabolism, how we experience pain, stress, hunger, and more.

Is CBD Legal?
This is where it gets complicated or at least our government makes it complicated for us.  Because there are different agencies that oversee and regulate the various aspects of cannabis, it makes it difficult for consumers to know what is legal or not.  Under the Agricultural Improvement Act of 2018, the USDA says that CBD derived from hemp is legal if it contains 0.3% or less of THC.  On the over hand, the FDA has approved it for use as a seizure-reduction drug called Epidiolex.  Because CBD has received approval as a drug, it is technically illegal to market it as a dietary supplement or food additive.  But wait!  It gets better.  The FDA says that consumers are not breaking the law if they purchase a product with CBD in it.  What???

Should One Try CBD?
In my opinion, I say yes.  I am a firm believer in natural health.  I will use natural remedies for pain or sickness before I would use any type of over the counter or prescription drug.  I prefer not to support the big pharmaceutical companies.  For example, Epidiolex would cost on average $32,500 per year.  48.06% of the U.S. population makes less than $30,000.  I use CBD oil for my chronic pain, and it helps me to sleep better at night.  Not all CBD products are created equal.  Everyone must do their research on the products they are considering buying.  Make sure the product has been third-party tested for ingredients and purity.  Experiment with the dosing.  Many people give up on CBD after using it once or twice because they think it doesn't work.  CBD works cumulatively, building up in the body over time.
